Based on the Doppler effect principle, the Police radar gun achieves non-contact, accurate speed measurement. It is suitable for temporary checkpoints on roads without fixed speed measuring equipment, around curves, near schools, and in accident-prone areas. The device supports handheld operation and vehicle-mounted dynamic speed measurement, enabling rapid speed detection of passing vehicles.
The Police radar gun is a mobile speed measuring device designed based on the Doppler effect principle, primarily used at temporary road checkpoints, accident-prone areas, around schools, and on curves where there are no fixed speed measuring devices. The device transmits radio waves to the target vehicle and receives the reflected signal, calculating the vehicle's speed based on the frequency difference between the transmitted and reflected waves. This non-contact measurement method eliminates the need for any sensors on the target, does not affect normal vehicle operation, and ensures operator safety.
The device operates in the 24GHz microwave band, with a transmission power controlled within 20dBm. The speed measurement range is 1 to 240 km/h, with a measurement error within ±1 km/h, demonstrating high measurement accuracy. The device has a built-in 3600mAh rechargeable battery, providing over 10 hours of continuous operation to meet all-weather duty requirements. Weighing approximately 504 grams, the casing is made of ABS resin, allowing operators to hold it by hand or mount it on a tripod for fixed monitoring.
In terms of functionality, Police radar gun supports setting overspeed thresholds. Users can set alarm values according to road speed limits, and the device automatically identifies speeding vehicles and records relevant data. Some models are equipped with a mini printer, supporting on-site printing of overspeed certificates containing vehicle speed, time, and location information, achieving one-stop completion of speed measurement, certification, and recording. The device also has data storage capabilities, allowing users to query and export historical speeding records for subsequent statistical analysis.
Police radar gun has a wide range of applications. In road traffic management, it can be used for temporary speed checks on urban and rural roads without fixed speed measurement equipment, mountain curves, around schools, and accident-prone sections. Within factory areas, it can be used to monitor the speed of mobile equipment such as forklifts and winches to ensure safe production operations. Furthermore, this device is also suitable for measuring the speed of moving objects during sports training. It should be noted that the measurement results of Police radar gun may be affected in environments with many targets, scenarios requiring long-term continuous monitoring, and when small or non-metallic targets have poor reflection conditions.
